May 6, 2005 - Sacramento, CA - CAOMA-Sponsored AB 1115 and AB 1117 passed the  Assembly Floor 73-0.

AB 1115, which will establish "Acupuncture Assistants," and AB 1117, which will change references from "oriental medicine" to "Asian medicine" in California law, boht passed the California State Assembly today on a 73-0 vote on the "Consent Calendar." The Consent Calendar is a list of bills without opposition, and which, therefore, do not require debate on the Floor prior to vote. The bills on the Consent Calendar are voted on as a group. This same process also takes place in committees.
