January 31, 2005 - Los Angeles, CA - South Baylo University announces plans for National Oriental Medicine Accredation Agency and Western Association of Schools and Colleges site visits in prepartition for expanded accrediation status.

NATIONAL ORIENTAL MEDICINE ACCREDITATION AGENCY (NOMAA)

We are pleased to announce that South Baylo University submitted an Initial Accreditation Report to NOMAA on January 18, 2005.  NOMAA is a national programmatic accrediting agency that accredits the entry-level doctorate of Oriental Medicine degree (OMD) at institutions of higher education.  NOMAA’s office is located at 3445 Pacific Coast Highway, Suite 300, Torrance, California 90505.  Tel: (213) 820-2045 and Fax: (310) 325-8116.

A NOMAA Site Visit has been scheduled for Saturday, February 19 to Tuesday, February 22, 2005.  The members of the Site Visit Team are:

WESTERN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS & COLLEGES (WASC)

We are also pleased to announce that South Baylo University is also preparing for a Capacity and Preparatory Review by a Site Visit Team from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and University located at 985 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Alameda, CA 94501, Tel: (501) 748-9001.  WASC is one of the six regional accrediting associations in the United States that evaluates and accredits schools, colleges and universities in California.  


On April 2002, an Eligibility Review Panel of WASC granted Eligibility to South Baylo University which is now eligible for a Candidacy visit. To achieve this, the University will host a Capacity and Preparatory Review scheduled for March 2 - 4 2005 and an Educational Effectiveness Review scheduled for October 17 - 19, 2005.  The WASC Commission will meet on February 17, 2006 to discuss and take action on the team reports for these visits.

The Capacity and Preparatory Review visit to SBU will be on March 2-4, 2005 and members of the Team are:
