November 1, 2005 - Sacramento, CA -  An "End of Session Appreciation Dinner" will be held on December 1 to commend the California Acupuncture Board.

The following open invitation has been sent to all acupuncturist organizations, schools, and related businesses, with a similar letter sent to legislators and community leaders who support Asian and Oriental Medicine (AOM):

Dear Collegue:

On behalf of the Council of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Associations Board of Directors, we are pleased to invite you to join us at the “End of Session Appreciation Dinner” to be held on December 1, 2005 at the Ocean Star Restaurant located at 145 North Atlantic Boulevard, Monterey Park, CA  91754.

We would be delighted to have you join in the festivities when we celebrate the much appreciated support for our profession demonstrated by so many members of the California State Legislature this past year - support that was so instrumental in our legislative successes.  We will also be celebrating the good work of the California Acupuncture Board - past, present and future - and the importance of continued unity of voice as we continue in our serious responsibilities for the improvement of public awareness and ensuring excellence of service.

This year has been a significant year for our profession.  We successfully sponsored legislation authored by Assemblyman Leland Yee -- and we worked hand-in-hand with many legislators and community organizations to save the California Acupuncture Board.  This is certainly cause for celebration and a reminder of how much can be accomplished when we work together for a common good.
