This website is hosted by the Council of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Associations, an umbrella organization of Oriental medicine professional membership organizations, advocating for excellence in the education and practice of Oriental Medicine.

The purpose of this site is to provide credible and timely information for consumers, health care professionals, educators, and policy-makers regarding acceptable standards and curent issues in the delivery, use, and advocacy of Oriental medicine services.

The information placed on this website is selected and reviewed by the members of the Executive Committee of the Council. Every effort is made to have the material reviewed prior to placement on the website, however, some pages may not be in their final edited form due to delays in the editorial process, while simultaneously attempting to provide news while it is still fresh and current. Contents are dereived from legal documents, peer-reviewed publications, professionally recognized standards, government documents, and the expert opinion of members of the Oriental medicine community, and witnesses to events. References and links are offered whenever available. We do our best to keep the website current, but portions of the website may still be under contruction.

Correcting the Record

Errors occur from time to time during the editorial process, and, occassionally from multiple persons reporting the same facts that turned out to be incorrect. The Council relies exclusively upon the financial contributions of its member and affiliate organizations, and do not accept commercial advertising or sponsorships.

We attempt to include links to a broad variety of Oriental medicine, health, government, commercial, and consumer websites, while trying to avoid links to sites  that promote questionable information, products, or services. However, links should not be considered an endorsement, nor do they confer any legitimacy to the content of those websites.
