| Requires an individual seeking a license to practice acupuncture, in addition to existing requirements, to complete a postgraduate residency program approved by the California Acupuncture Board (Board). Also requires that the individual seeking the license shall be supervised by a licensed acupuncturist during the postgraduate residency program. |
| Provides that the Board shall determine, and set forth in regulation, the minimum number of hours necessary to meet the postgraduate residency requirement. |
| Provides that the regulations adopted by the Board to implement the postgraduate residency program must be approved by the Director of the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) before taking effect. |
| Provides that the postgraduate residency program requirement will only apply to individuals entering a Board-approved training program in acupuncture and oriental medicine one year after the regulations for the postgraduate residency program take effect. |
